Dr. Tyler Hotaling joined Parkside Veterinary Hospital in 2010. Growing up in southern Vermont, he now happily resides in East Chatham, NY. He received an undergraduate degree from Cornell University and a veterinary degree from the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine, earning a VMD degree in 2007. Prior to joining Parkside Veterinary Hospital, he worked in the Fort Collins, CO area where he did a one-year internship at the Colorado State University Veterinary Teaching Hospital followed by several years in mixed animal practices.
Dr. Hotaling feels his primary responsibility is effectively educating clients to help formulate a diagnostic and treatment plan that makes sense to each individual circumstance. He has a professional interest in preventive care, infectious disease, dentistry, and general medicine and surgery. Dr. Hotaling is a member of the American, New York State, and Capital District Veterinary Medical Societies, and has attended continuing education classes on surgery, anesthesia, pain management, ophthalmology, and dermatology.
Outside of Parkside Veterinary Hospital, Dr. Hotaling enjoys ice climbing, trail running, and hiking with his family. His family includes his wife, Tina, and a toddler daughter Ada. He also has two mischievous dogs (Toby and Jack) and two cats (Kuma and Stewart).
